Outside

Loreli loves outside. Seriously loves it. She even loves to go out in this sometimes frigid North Dakota weather (it's been a rather mild winter). She's nuts. She also likes to help Shea with anything he's doing especially if it's outside.

Here they are shoveling the driveway together.

She loves to put on her boots, coat and hat because that means...outside! This was the hat she chose to wear yesterday. It may be a little large, but doesn't it make her face look so cute?

  Already giving us sass.

Valentine's Day!

I love celebrating insignificant holidays like valentine's day because anything that you get or do is amazing, because who really expects much on valentine's day? We had a little party just us 3 beginning with some heart shaped whole wheat pancakes for breakfast and then for lunch we had yummy homemade pizza, heart rice krispies, delish chex mix, and chocolate cupcakes with cream cheese frosting!

Our yummy treats.

We even all got little presents! I made a carrying case that holds colored pencils and a notepad for Loreli. She loves it! Loreli got Shea a huge tub of ice cream and I got him a movie and the game boggle. Shea got me some large glass measuring cups/mixing bowls, a meat and a candy thermometer, and rolos. I love kitcheny things. See what I mean...anything is amazing on Valentine's day!

Yes, I made her a valentine's day dress. Not much to do in ND!

We then ended the day with getting ourselves wrapped up into a long strand of yarn which was rather hilarious to watch.

Hope y'all had a great valentine's day!

One Little Monkey...

I guess climbing follows walking in the child progress chain.

Though this brings us joy to see her grow and develop, I can think of at least two problems with a climbing child:
1. She can get to more stuff.  Once Loreli started to pull herself up on stuff, Katy wanted to get rid of all of our end tables and night stands because we couldn't keep anything on them anyway.  Now what? We get rid of all of our chairs, tables, counters, desks, beds and barbeque grills?
2. She isn't really good at climbing so it results in lots of crying from injury.
 No chairs are safe.
Even though she was super happy in this shot, it scares me.
