Stealing the Spotlight

Loreli is great at stealing the spotlight from Jack. Bless his heart. At one point during this little clip She tries to take over the camera, but instead I flipped the screen around so she could see herself which explains some of the weird behaviors. Enjoy!

Our Little Babbler

When Jack is awake he's either smiling, wiggling or babbling! We love to hear him and wanted to share a bit of his babbling.

Jack is 2 months!

We can't believe how quickly the time is passing and how much Jack has grown!

Jack's 2 month Stats:

13 pounds 14 ounces
25.5 inches long

Super smiley and dimply

We love our calm and smiley 2 month old!

A Very Helpful Sister

When Jack gets bigger he is going to want some revenge and we might just let him.

Our Girl

Loreli is hilarious. She is so full of sass, crazy made up words and emotions. Here are a few things she's been up to as of late.

She insists on wearing this raincoat and won't take it off even if it's 90 degrees out. I've had to peel it off her a few times so she doesn't die of heat exhaustion.

She nurses her baby these days. I wonder where she got that idea?

Doesn't look like too smart of an idea to me.

Still reading in the tub even after the water has drained.

Wrapped up in an wet beach towel asleep on the floor.

Smiley Boy

Jack is pretty perfect. He eats well and sleeps a lot, but for the first 6 weeks of his life he didn't do much more than that. Now he is responding to us talking to him and giving his adorable dimply smiles!! These pictures are a little rough...poor lighting, crappy camera, bad angle...you take your pick. Regardless, he is still so sweet and smiley!

Love him!

Blessed Baby Jack

On July 1st Shea blessed baby Jack in church. We didn't have any family in town for the blessing, but it was still very special. Ever since we've been married I have been "in charge" of taking pictures (which is why I am normally never in them) and since I've become a mom it's also been my responsibility to diaper and feed the kids aka live in the mother's lounge on Sundays at church. Because of the latter responsibility we did not get any pictures of our family the day Jack was blessed! Loreli ran to nursery and Jack begged to eat. I regret this already, but no worries we did get some pictures (an entire week later)!

No pants! They were a little too hot for our photo shoot.

Love his open mouth!

Love those squishy cheeks!

Meanwhile Loreli dug in the dirt.

July 4th!

On the 4th we had some Watford friends over for a barbecue! It was lots of fun and nice to socialize a bit. After most of the party left we went outside and threw snaps, played with confetti poppers and sparklers! This was Loreli's first experience with sparklers and she loved them!

those tough to pull confetti poppers!

Yaay for confetti!

sparklers!

She is in loooove!
Here are a few videos from our sparkling evening!

Pink Lemonade

It's pretty rare that we have sugary drinks in our house...or it was rare until Shea bought 7 dozen cans of soda. Loreli knows that all good things come from crinkly bags or wrappers and now from a soda can. So here she is enjoying a pink lemonade on a warm July day.

She spilled about half a can on her clothes and since she hates to be wet insisted on sitting in her skivvy's on the steps. Class-ay.

Sprinkles

We've had some really hot days and have been doing all we can to keep cool. Loreli got to experience the sprinkler for the very first time which was quite entertaining to watch.

This is her wondering why her clothes are wet. She hates it when her clothes get wet.

So we took care of that problem...

Playing in the sprinkler always requires a running head start.

Luckily we were in the backyard so no one could see her running through the sprinkler in her diaper...whatever would we do if these North Dakotans figured out we were white trash?

For those adoring fans here's what Jack is up to these days...
