About time!

Way back in early June when I went to gather my relations from Start Valley, I started to build a crib.  I completed all of the actual constructing while we were there, but because of a recent development for the loathing of painting, the unfinished crib has just sat in pieces in our garage since that time.  But with Jack getting close to touching both ends of his bassinet at the same time, I figured my time for procrastinating had ended.
However I did have the foresight to purchase a paint sprayer for this occasion.  Made painting a much more bearable activity.
A few coats later, ta-da, a finished crib.

It turned out okay, although there are more flaws in it than I care to admit, but Loreli seemed pleased with it.

Thanks for the new swimsuit Grandma Nina! The other swimsuit Loreli had was a bit snug, but that never kept her from playing in the water. When we opened the box and she saw the new swimsuits she began tugging at her clothes in an attempt to take them off. Ahhhh...hilarious!

Doesn't out yard look sad? Dang dry and sweltering Summer!

Jack is 3 Months!

Jack was 3 months on Wednesday! As the days pass I am realizing that my days to snuggle on this little guy are numbered...can't he just stay a my sweet baby boy forever?

Here are his 3 month stats:

15 pounds
27 inches long

Doesn't he look tall?

The Teepee!

I have wanted to make a teepee for the Loreli for a while now and finally got around to it! Thank goodness for naps, right? I didn't embellish much because...well...that would have taken more time. One day when Loreli doesn't just scribble all over and won't eat paints we can spend a day outside painting it. Until then it's plain ole boring canvas! I do wonder why I continue to make her things since she doesn't get too excited about them and I've come to the conclusion that I really make them for me. I would have loved a teepee like this when I was a kid! Who knows, maybe she'll appreciate it more as she gets older.

Maybe she does like it!

In case anyone is curious...I found the tutorial at Smile and Wave, bought one 9' x 12' drop cloth for $15, bought two rolls of 7/8" grosgrain ribbon for $4, and we already had some eight foot 2 x 4's that Shea cut to make the poles. Totaling to $19 and only 4 hours between naptime and bedtime! Woot!

Loving Big Sister

Here are a few moments we captured of Loreli being a sweet big sister. Jack as always just goes with the flow even if he is a tad skeptical of Loreli's sweetness.
