New House and Stuff

The last 6 weeks have been, eventful.  Pretty much everything with the move and then a birthday and trying to get furniture to put in the new house.  You know, just a lot of, blah.
Trying to pack up and clean the house in Wyoming meant that the kids got to watch more shows than we usually like to permit.  They were okay with it. But that position looks a little uncomfortable.
Loreli has always been a little too adventurous for her own good.  She got stuck in a chair and I made her sit there are squeal so I could get the camera.  I know I will be able to use this picture in the future some how.
One month ago we closed on a house here in Greeley CO.  Luckily the sellers pushed to move the closing date up one week, because the original closing date was in the middle of that arctic attack thing and it was 0 degrees and below all week.   We stayed the night before in Laramie with my Grandma (thanks G Mary) and then came down to close that morning, then we went to Sonic and came and sat on the floor of our newly purchased home and ate lunch.  Katy spend the next few hours on the phone getting our utilities set up while I moved a lot of stuff in.  Some day I might be grateful for hundreds of pounds of food storage, but that day was not one of them.

We have made a few visits to the local GoodWill looking for housey things and Loreli found the greatest thing ever made by man.  I refused to purchase it, but for just a few minutes it was hers.
Loreli is getting very good at writing and copying words and letters
 And at climbing trees

However she it not so good at sledding just yet

The house came with a swing set.  I think the kids see it more as we bought a swing set and a house came with it
The grocery store Katy goes to, has a little horse ride that costs a penny.  Seriously 1 cent.  This last time there was just a pile of pennies sitting there.  Take-a-penny-leave-a-penny deal but for horse rides.  Nice.

And we gave thanks

This year Thanksgiving was held solo.  I was required to work half the day, which wasn't too bad because I got off at noon and so was able to help make and eat Thanksgiving lunch.
This year we went with a little different take on the meal and then was annoyed that we had never done it this way before.

Just grill the turkey.  It takes way less time and is the best thing on the whole damn planet.  Granted it wasn't a whole turkey just the drumsticks, still... amazing!

And since it was almost 60 degrees out

The kids had a great time running around

Loreli got into the mood of the holiday

All Jack ate was some sugar packets, but he did enjoy poking his jello.
And then the events of the day ended with good ole fashioned family fun
Playing rough till someone cries

And then she was 4

I really don't like that my little girl is growing up.  It makes it a little better that she still mispronounces words but how long will that last (sob!).  My current favorites are mistapear (disappear), thingers (fingers), and every word that starts with "b".  That sound is not one made in the English language.  Maybe Russian or Arabic.  Its a soft "g" or "c" type sound made in the very back of the throat.  Awesome.
Anywho, she is now 4. And we had a rainbow unicorn party to celebrate.
Breakfast came from the walmart bakery on my way home off night shift.  Never buy doughnuts at walmart.  Even at 6 am they are not fresh and cold.  I couldn't believe it.

Jack doesn't know how to share or not get something so he had to have a turn blowing out candles too.

Thanks to everyone that sent presents.  Loreli loved every one of them.

Don't know how this made it onto the wish list since she is not a Hello Kitty fan at all, but if you asked her what she wanted most, she would consistently say "a pink umbrella", but it's pronounced "unrella".
She was gracious enough to let Jack help unwrap some of them.
Other ones he just decided to abscond with.

Yeah, there is a large amount of leaves under that snow.  Stupid winter.

Hey! Howdy! Hey!

Halloween is well over, but we have pictures of that and none of the new house yet so here you go.
I do not know how Loreli got the idea to be Dorothy but she really went for it and then watched "The Wizard of OZ" numerous times to prepare for the role,
Jack had no say in his costume, but was all for the idea of Sheriff Woody after Katy selected it.  However, for future reference, the color and pattern of Woody's shirt is impossible to find.  You will have to make your own.

The Wednesday before Halloween there was a branch party, and they liked that far more than actual Halloween.

Just like last year we didn't go trick-or-treating, we went to Lander's main street thingy.  There were a lot more people there this year.  And Jack called it quits after about 10 minutes.

I'm a strapping man, but that little guy get a little heavy after 30 minutes in the arms.

Loreli's a trooper though.  She made it and still had the patience for a little photo shoot.
