Cousin Attack!

Loreli just loved being around her cousins this last week, they may not have been so excited.
Here Rivers tries to escape a Vulcan neck pinch, resistance is futile.

Loreli thought that a just awoken and slightly upset Rivers just needed someone to lay all over her.  She is terrible at reading facial cues.

Maybe a friendly game of typewriter will win her affections.

Well as long as our child is happy we don't care what she is doing or who she is harming, as long as it is not us.

The Big 01

One whole year and not dead yet.  That's a record for us.  Not that we have killed one before a year...
Anyway.  Loreli wanted me to be sure and tell everyone thanks for the presents.  She would have said it herself but she is a little busy at the moment being stuck under a chair.  Hold on...

We started out with a present from Auntie Kristen.  It's a stackable doughnut-cake, jingly thing.  You know.  It was so fun for about a minute, but then the wrapping paper and box kept her entertained for the next 5 minutes.

Mom had a lot of fun decorations set up.  None are pictured but there were also about 16 balloons that just about killed us.  They were super stiff.  I think it only took me to try and blow up two before I had a mouth hernia, you know where part of your brain shoots out your ear.
 Then there was cake

Isn't that belly button gross?!  And that is saying something coming from me.  I may keep half a sweater in mine occasionally but I never pack it with chocolate cake.  The frosting was her favorite part, to eat that is, not to stick in her belly button.
Then we ended with more presents.

Some bath toys from Jack and G, and some awesome cards from B and T
Too bad we already did bath.  So we'll have to try them out in next month's bath.  J/K, she bathes more frequently than I do.  But then again I don't stuff my belly button full of soggy food.  Just the dry stuff for me.

Sickly

Don't worry. She's not dead, just sick. Since last Wednesday Loreli has been a little under the weather. She's been cranky, tipsy, febrile, exhausted, and so super snuggly. Her fever broke Saturday evening and then Sunday morning I noticed a fabulous red rash. Lets just say that Sunday was rough all around. We finally were able to get into the doctor today and turns out that she has roseola, a rockin' sore throat, a few swollen spots on her gums (more teeth...uggh), and an ear infection. Seriously? No wonder the past few days have been treacherous! Here are a few sickly pictures of the wee one.

Watching Veggie Tales and playing with Dad's CDs
She looks so lethargic.
Thanks Auntie Amy for the pacifier thermometer & Nina for the granny pajamas!

Hopefully the antibiotics we picked up today will do the trick and this little one will be back to being her silly self again!

Autumn Leaves

Loreli loves to crinkle dried up leaves and like most other disgusting babies, she likes to eat them. Ick. So the other day I made a nice pile of leaves for her to crinkle and roll around in.

Happy Autumn!

Happy Halloween!

Apart from our fall stint in Nashville last year I think this is the warmest Halloween I have ever had.  A 64 degree day in North Dakota at the end of October.  Crazy right?  I think it's just lulling us into a false sense of security and next week we are going to get 9 feet of snow and stay below 0 till next March.  Anyway...
Thanks for the costume G Dunaway!

At the ward party she won "the cutest costume" award earning her parents a twix candy bar.  Thanks Loreli.  Our ward here has over 900 members and I'm pretty sure they all were there at the party.  Insanity partially describes the overall feel of the event.  We won't focus too much on that.  This post is about cute pictures of princess Loreli.

Being a princess we shouldn't have let her grub around on the floor, but tights and a wood floor make walking difficult for a novice walker.  But there were too many kids there for her to be unhappy about anything.

All of the businesses in town let the kids trick-or-treat through them so we went over to main street to join in the commotion.

The City Bar there gave all the kids free tequila shots.

Loreli had fun seeing all the kids dressed up like her friend Cierra here from the ward.

A little boy walked past this dog dressed like a caterpillar and said "look an alligator". That brought me the chuckles.

She may not have much hair, but she does have teeth.  There are 4 more hiding behind that top lip.
