We Miss You Shea!!

Many of you may not know that Shea has been working and living in North Dakota for almost 2 months now while Loreli and I have been in Wyoming. He has ventured back our way a few times, but being away for a couple of weeks is tough. The last time he was around was the first weekend in April and with all of his crazy shift changes as of late the next time we'll see him will be the second weekend in May. Sad. We miss you Shea! So per his request here are some more pictures of little Loreli.

Don't you just love those dark eyes?

I think she's hiding a smile behind that hand.

Cheek nibbles!

Playing with uncle Bridger. Get him Loreli, get him!
She's been really into grabbing neck meat now-a-days. Ouch!

This is a very poor picture of her tripoding. She was being a bit of a grouch and didn't feel like holding her body up which made taking a picture super tricky.

We can't wait to move to North Dakota so we can be with you Shea!
We love you!!

Buttermilk Ranch Love

Sometimes during meals Loreli wants to be in my lap at the table watching everyone eat. As she's gotten older she's also gotten more grabby. I have to watch her and make sure she doesn't grab my plate and fling it off the table (it hasn't happened yet, so I'm not speaking from experience here). In the last week when I have reached for the bottle of Great Value buttermilk ranch dressing Loreli has attempted to grab the bottle from my hands. After I am done with it I screw the lid on tight and let her hold on to it a bit. Here's the evidence.

What is up with children and their obsession with condiments? My niece Ella loves a bottle of honey that she calls her "honey bear", but come on Loreli! At least like something that resembles an animal! I guess we don't get to choose who or what our children love.

Loeli

Yes, I know how to spell my daughters name. It just seems that even though we named her Loreli, calling her Loeli like Ella does seems much easier at times. So that is what most of us call her now-a-days.

Loreli is so full of smiles! She gives them away to everyone but Jack for some reason. Bridger has been very good at getting her to smile and giggle when he plays with her. Here is a smile uncle Bridge got out of Loreli one night when I was feeding her.

Here's uncle Bridge trying to work his smiley magic! He's so great with her and such a great help to me!

The other day when checking out my sisters blog, kristenrucker.com, she mentioned a Dunaway childhood classic; the ice cream cone cupcake! I showed the post to the fam and Trinity and I decided that we would party and make some of these. They were so fun to decorate and yummy to eat!

Don't you just love the frosting colors? So much fun!!
Can you find the one with the drunken face?

We had some left over cake batter and made a small cake and decorated that too! Trinity did an awesome job!

Okay, so this isn't the best picture, but it was a hilarious sight. Loreli was using her cheek as an arm rest. I couldn't get a second shot because after the first pictures flash went off she twitched and moved. Oh well.

This is Loreli before church yesterday. And yes this is the same dress she wore to Kade and Jennacy's wedding and yes it is getting a tad small. She just looks so fancy to be taking a nap...I guess that's just how she rolls.

My Debut

Since Shea is away I, Katy am making my debut on the blog to announce that our little lady is 5 months old! It seems just like yesterday that she was born, so teeny and fragile; now she's just how Moto Moto likes them "big and chunky." That's our girl!

Here she is trying to help me with the camera/grab the safety strap. So helpful.

Grandma got her excited and giggling!

For all of you denying that Loreli looks like her dad here's the proof that she looks like Shea. I'm pretty sure in his baby book that he has a picture making the same face...the look of sheer disgust.

Here are a few with me! I think this totals to 6 pictures that Loreli and I have together. Sad.

Don't you just love those chunky thighs?! I sure do. So nibble worthy, just like her cheeks!

She may be getting bigger, but picture taking sure is tough so she needed a little break.

Some things that Loreli has been doing lately include attempting to roll over (she's done it, but seems disinterested for now), lots of talking, eating yummy solids, standing with help, tri-poding (she's so close to sitting!), smiling, laughing (she laughed for the first time on my birthday!), and sticking every little thing in her mouth.

We love our little chunkster! She's so much fun!

Oh, and we love you too Shea and hope that you don't get swept into the newly developed ocean in North Dakota!

Going for a Stroll

Jack was walking around with Loreli yesterday after conference and ended up putting her in Trinity's small toy stroller. Even though she didn't smile, she loved it!

Katy was cracking up the whole time because she unlike in this picture was sitting back with her arms pinned and just with the chunkiest cheeks on the planet! She's such a funny girl and so fun to play with.

Party for 50

Jack is turning 50 this year here in a couple weeks and since I was going to be around this last weekend we decided to party now instead of later when no one would be around.  Everyone was there.

Our first activity was another taste test.  Jack is a big fan of "real" juices.  So we bought some different flavors and brands of super juice.  Some of these things were just terrible, but some of them were quite good.  Yeah, I would go with the general advice to avoid green juice at all costs.

Then we played "pin the contact on the eyeball".  Mysha won with the most obvious and disgusting bit of cheating I have ever seen. Then we did presents.
Among other things he got a crane weather vane for his barn. It's Shinny!

Spring Break!

Party in the snow!  For the first few days of the kid's spring break Katy and the fam met up with Mysha and her's at Bear Lake.  As you can see the weather really isn't ideal for actually going out to the lake but when your hotel has a rockin' pool, what else do you need?

I was not around again, but I hear it was a swell time enjoyed by all.
Loreli's first time in a pool.  We don't get a great glimpse into her thoughts through this picture but she later told me that she really likes going swimming.  That's good because Watford City (the place we just bought a house. Oh yeah, we bought a house!) has a pool and water slide.
MaceyJo too braved the elements and ditched class to come party down.
